Jack Percy Swindle Sr., age 96, a resident of Foley, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017.

Jack was a three-time war veteran, having retired from the Air Force after 26 years of service and he was decorated 39 times.

He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the VFW and a member of the Elks Club and the Kiwanis Club.

He taught ROTC for 16 years after his retirement. Jack was proud to have his numerous cadets return many years to Baldwin County for "Sargefest" and ride on the Veteran's Day parade float with him.

Preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Swindle; his parents, Gleason and Trudy Swindle; son, Joey Swindle; brothers, Bill, Joe and Sam Swindle; and a sister, Mary Crawford.

He is survived by his son, Jack Swindle Jr.; daughter, Cindy Basile; a brother, Tom Swindle; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, 2017 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley.

Graveside service will be held Monday, Nov. 20, 2017 at 12 p.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Florida.
