FOLEY – Keith Newton, Chief Executive Officer of South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, has accepted a new position with CHSPSC, LLC, where he’ll provide strategic support for a broader group of CHS-affiliated hospitals.

“It has been a privilege to serve and work alongside the skilled physicians, dedicated employees and administrators to advance the care we provide for our patients,” said Newton. “The strong leadership in place here will support the hospital’s continued success in service to the community.”

Newton first joined the hospital as Chief Financial Officer in 2010 and was promoted to the CEO role in 2012. His contributions have helped South Baldwin Regional Medical Center achieve and sustain a high level of quality care and service. The work environment for employees has been named as one of Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare for the sixth straight year. Newton has also been successful in recruiting new physicians and expanding patient access points in the community.

Members of the board of trustees, medical staff and administration will participate in the search to identify the right candidate to lead the hospital. During the transition period, Keith Granger, CHSPSC, LLC Regional President and Market CEO for Alabama, will work closely with the hospital executive team until a successor CEO is named.
