FOLEY – Hoping for a new place to grab a bite this summer? Lucy’s Retired Surfers Bar & Restaurant has announced a new location will be opening in Foley during summer 2019 after naming Kevin Armantrout Chief Executive Officer. The Foley location will be the fifth, along with current locations in Louisiana, Florida, Aruba, and Costa Rica, and will be located within OWA’s Downtown District.

Lucy’s Retired Surfers Bar & Restaurant first opened in 1985 on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, followed by opening a location in New Orleans’ Warehouse District in 1992. The restaurant has since become known for its laidback surf-style attitude, tropical drinks, zany staff, and fun atmosphere. The menu features a wide variety of choices, from appetizers, tacos, burgers, and favorites such as Bonfire Churrasco Steak and Cabo Shrimp & Grits. The extensive bar features drinks such as Shark Attack (mermaids beware), Da' Killer Blue Whale, and The Cloudbreak.

Armantrout, who has years of experience in the restaurant industry, plans to expand the brand to approximately 20 new locations by 2024, starting right here in Alabama.

“As we set our sights on major expansion plans, we’ve realized the need to add senior management depth to our executive management team,” said President and Founder of Kirkendoll Management John Kirkendoll. “I’m excited for Kevin [Armantrout] to join our corporate team and continue to drive Lucy’s growth and profitability.”

Keep an eye out for the new construction that will be happening soon in our area, gearing up for the 2019 summer season. To learn more about the new location as well as current ones, check out www.LucysRetiredSurfers.com.
