Myra Sue McLain Craft of Anniston, Alabama and Gulf Shores, Alabama, went to be with Our Heavenly Father on Sept. 15, 2018. Sue passed in her home, peacefully at the age of 86.

Sue was born Sept. 11, 1932 in Anniston, Alabama to the late Ross M. and Donnie B. McLain.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald (Peggy) McLain; and the late father of her children, David M. Craft.

She is survived by her daughters Connie J. Mandac and Karen C. Russo; grandchildren, Tyler R. Mandac (Kandra), Shea Mandac and Vincent R. Russo; great-grandchildren, Lacey and Lila Mandac, Dagen and Ana Mandac.

Sue enjoyed a career with AFFES in many states, including Newfoundland, Canada while being the wife of an Air Force sergeant.

Sue retired from Trade Winds Shoppette in Fort McClellan, Alabama at the age of 70 and moved to Gulf Shores, Alabama to enjoy the beach.

Sue volunteered at many charities in Gulf Shores and attended Gulf Shores United Methodist Church, where she became a part of the Daybreak program there. This program enriched her life in many ways after her dementia diagnosis and she made many friends.

Sue led an honest life and influenced many with her strong character and independence which she learned and witnessed from her parents.

Sue established herself in Gulf Shores and made many friends who loved and enjoyed her.

There will be a memorial service at a later date at the Gulf Shores United Methodist Church.

Sue's service in Anniston will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 at Gray Brown-Service Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
