GULF SHORES AND ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – The University of Mobile will be joined by 15 of the best collegiate soccer teams from around the country for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Women’s Soccer National Championship Nov. 27 to Dec. 2, 2017 at the Orange Beach Sportsplex. The championship has called Orange Beach home since 2012.

“The NAIA is so excited to call the Orange Beach area home for the NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship, partnering with the wonderful people at the Sports Commission,” said Chad Waller, director of athletics communication and media for NAIA. “Year after year, we hear positive remarks from the players, coaches and fans on the championship-level atmosphere at the Sportsplex, and the hospitality shown to everyone that travels to the beautiful beaches. We want to congratulate all of the 16 teams, wish them success and to enjoy the experience!”

In an effort to extend its Champions of Character program to the community, teams will conduct clinics at Gulf Shores Middle School on Tuesday, Nov. 28 during each P.E. class. Teams will discuss the core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership as well as demonstrate soccer skills. Additionally, teams will donate items such as snacks and baby blankets to the animals at the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo.

Admission for the championship is $30 for tournament passes and $10 for day passes. Fans and families are invited to attend the opening banquet on Sunday, Nov. 26 and semi-finalist banquet on Thursday, Nov. 30 for $25 per ticket per event.
