ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — The Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce hosted an open house and ribbon cutting on March 15 for the Bayside Behavioral Health Center.

Originally located in Fairhope, the center relocated to Robertsdale about a month ago, said Charlie Morris, a licenses social worker, owner/founder of Bayside Behavioral Health Center.

According to its website, baysidebhc.com, the Health Center is a comprehensive mental health center designed to provide services to youth and their families.

“We believe in a holistic approach,” Morris said, “which means we do not believe in the use of drugs to treat behavioral issues.”

A native of Robertsdale, Morris is a 2005 graduate of Robertsdale High School and received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Alabama with post-graduate work at the University of Louisville.

He is a Juvenile Sex Offender Certified Counselor and specializes in the assessment and treatment of child and adolescent mental health, LBGTQ challenges, sexual abuse trauma and problematic sexual behaviors.

“We receive referrals from DHR, school counselors and law enforcement agencies,” he said, “as well as family referrals for private clients.”

The health clinic provides psychological evaluations and assessments of domestic violence; general psychological testing; parenting; phychosexual behaviors; and substance abuse.

In addition to Morris, the health center includes five staff, including licenses social workers, professional counselors and clinical psychologists that provide a wide range of mental health services including individual, family and group psychotherapy; parenting and family support; individual and group life skills coaching including anger management, batterer’s intervention; parenting and substance abuse.

If you would like more information contact Morris or one of the staff at 251-947-2240.
