Officials investigating fire

May have resulted in death of Bay Minette teenager

BAY MINETTE, Alabama — The State Fire Marshall is investigating a house fire over the holiday weekend in Bay Minette that may have resulted in the death of a Bay Minette teen.

Police officers and firefighters from Bay Minette responded to a structure fire at 606 W. Sixth St., at approximately 2:40 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 23.

According to a release issued Friday by the Bay Minette Police Department, once entry was made into the home, a deceased person was found inside. The cause of the fire and how the person died remains under investigation, according to the report.

While the name of the victim has yet to be released, according to local television media reports, the victim was a 15-year-old Baldwin County High School student.
