Orange Beach Fire Department welcomed two new fire engines Sept. 17 with an official blessing and push-in ceremony.

Orange Beach Fire Chief Mike Kimmerling and Orange Beach Mayor Tony Kennon spoke to the large crowd gathered at Fire Station 1. Members of the Orange Beach City Council, Police Chief Joe Fierro, Coastal Alabama Chamber President Greg Alexander were present for the presentation.

Pastor Fred Franks was on hand to bless Engine 1 and Engine 2. Franks asked the crowd to lay hands on the truck while he delivered a blessing of protection to the first responders who will use this investment in “Protecting Paradise.”

After the blessing the trucks were showered with a fire hose and pushed into Fire Station 1 by two large groups of Orange Beach firefighters.
