Police, Fire, football and fun on hand at Community Cookout

Firefighters and Police officers live to serve and protect their community and in Orange Beach they go one step further.

On a beautiful, sunny Saturday afternoon, Waterfront Park was filled with fire trucks, police cars, firemen and police officers. There was no criminal being arrested or home on fire but there was plenty of smoke from grills.

The City of Orange Beach Fire and Police Departments held a community cookout Nov. 16 to say thank you to the community they love to serve. Hamburgers and hot dogs filled the grills and sent plums of delicious smells into the air. Tables and chairs were filled with community members breaking bread together while children big and small enjoyed the firetrucks, police cars, park and sunshine.

The event organizers thought of everything including college football. Bryant Bank’s Tailgater trailer was on hand with a big screen television airing the University of Alabama versus Mississippi State game.

While the Community Cookout was a way for the City of Orange Beach Fire and Police Departments to say thank you residents showed up to thank them for serving this community.
