BAY MINETTE, Alabama — On Saturday, April 27, the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, along with VPs and employees of Quincy Compressor, excitedly cut the ribbon to unveil a project that began a little over nine months ago.
Nearly 500 people gathered for Quincy's Family Day event. Back in 1996, an expansion of the plant's capacity was made but the front offices had remained the same since the doors opened in 1980, so as you can imagine, these renovations are a huge deal to the company and its employees.
When construction began, employees temporarily relocated as the facility was practically gutted and overhauled into a beautiful, modern and very impressive space. Renovations to the building include a wide array of improvements and enhancements like a more open floor plan, beautiful glass doors and dividers, a new roof over the entire building and shop, bigger staff break area, improved restrooms, more conference and meeting space, brand new furniture, streamline desks and storage, new technology and more.
Aside from the ribbon cutting ceremony and tours, everyone enjoyed a lawn full of activities, games, crafts, concessions, catered lunch and a DJ during Family Day.
Several local fire departments, police, city officials, county commissioners, local leaders, business owners, members of the community and even life flight joined to celebrate with Quincy and their families during this special occasion, definitely marking a great day for the community overall.
