Resident tips lead to burglary arrest

BAY MINETTE, Alabama — Thanks to tips from local residents, the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday the arrest of a Bay Minette man in connection to the attempted breaking and entering of a vehicle in the Bromley Community.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:11 a.m. on Friday, March 24, according to a BCSO release.

Based on tips from local residents, a warrant was issued for the arrest in the incident of Joshua Maurice Priutt, 21, of Bay Minette, along with several other recent and past burglaries in the area.

Pruitt was arrested on the active warrant on Thursday, March 30 and he was transported to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division office where he was interviewed. According to the BCSO release, Pruitt confessed to numerous burglaries in various communities in the Bay Minette area.

Pruitt was charged with one count of attempted unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle; one count of unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle; and one count of burglary in the second degree. He was also charged with violation of a release order and a probation violation and booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Center on March 30. As of Monday, April 3, Pruitt remains in jail without bond.
