Richard Cain Winstead Jr. was born in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 1, 1948 and went to rest peacefully on July 6, 2018.

He was a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Business where he was a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity.

Dick was the owner and operator of Coconut Willie's Restaurant from 1980 through 2004 in Gulf Shores, where he and his wife, Pam, enjoyed a greatly fulling life together in the community.

Dick served on the Board of Directors of the Alabama Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce and the Island Youth Foundation. In recent years, he volunteered as a tutor with the Homework Haven after school program, working with Gulf Shores Middle School students.

He was predeceased by his parents, Richard Cain and Fredrika Jones Winstead; his sisters, Fredrika Jones "Rickie" Winstead and Emilee Winstead; and his brother, Robert Herbert Winstead.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Pam; and their two devoted sons, Richard Cain Winstead III and Peyton Kennedy Winstead.

A celebration of life will take place at the First Presbyterian Church of Gulf Shores on Saturday, July 14 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Steven D. Kurtz presiding.
