The Orange Beach Police Department recognized Officer River DeVoe as Officer of the second Quarter of 2021.

DeVoe is assigned to the Patrol Division and was selected for his awareness while close patrolling in the Publix parking lot May 10. Devoe observed a vendor trapped under several shelves inside a tractor trailer. His attentiveness to remove the vendor from under the collapsed shelves proved vital as medics were not yet on the scene to assist.

Paramedics arrived and determined that the individual needed immediate medical attention and was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.

In addition to his actions May 10, Devoe also made two felony drug arrests and nine DUI arrests in the second quarter of 2021.

The Orange Beach Police Department recognize DeVoe for his dedication, hard work and attentiveness in providing exceptional service to the police department and the Orange Beach community.
