Robert Donald Nelson, age 85, passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 in Fairhope.
He was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. Robert was member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, active member of the Knights of Columbus and avid fisherman.
He is preceded in death by a son, Perry S. Nelson.
Robert is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret J. Nelson of Fairhope; two daughters, Tracy (Rob) Gillespie, Tina (Jeff Radiola) Wilkes, all of Fairhope; daughter-in-law, Judy Nelson of Fairhope; a brother, Edward E. (Lois) Nelson of Foley; a sister, Annette Payer of Gilbert, Arizona; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other loving family and friends.
A memorial mass will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church at 10 a.m.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to mass.
A private interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Foundation.
