Robert Nelson Schriemer, age 85, a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan and a resident of Orange Beach, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018.
Robert (Bob) thoroughly loved his family and having them gathered around him. He loved all of God's creation. He loved to travel, with a trip to the Holy Land being a highlight of his travels.
He loved fishing, hunting and building or repairing things. He spent much time volunteering at a youth Bible camp and supporting their mission.
God blessed him with two wonderful wives, spending 50 years with the first (Ardy) and when she passed, 13 years with the second (Linda). He loved them both dearly.
He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Gulf Shores.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Green Schriemer of Orange Beach, Alabama; children, Sheri (Don) Slot, Patti (Steve) Hollenbeck, Tom (Ellen) Schriemer, Rick (Laurie) Schriemer; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two stepchildren; Sam Green, Cherie (Brad) Holt, three stepchildren, many other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Robert's life will be held at the First Baptist Church Gulf Shores, Monday, Oct. 15, 2018 at 11 a.m.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church Gulf Shores Building Fund.
