South African school administrators visit Sports Academy

DAPHNE — Representatives from eta College, a sport-centered college founded in 1983 as the Exercise Teachers Academy in Cape Town, South Africa, visited the United States Sports Academy campus and American Sport Art Museum & Archives (ASAMA) in Daphne.

While on campus, eta College CEO Dr. Stephen Harris, right, and Academic Director Linda Halliday met with Academy President and CEO Dr. T.J. Rosandich to discuss sport education programs in their respective nations and sport as a vehicle for national development.

eta College offers a wide range of courses geared to equip students with the skills and experience to embark on careers in sport management, sport coaching, project management, personal training, sport conditioning, event management and becoming an exercise specialist.

The United States Sports Academy is an independent, non-profit, accredited, special mission sports university created to serve the nation and world with programs in instruction, research and service. The role of the Academy is to prepare men and women for careers in the profession of sports.

Founded in 1984, ASAMA is dedicated to the preservation of sports art, history, and literature. The ASAMA collection is composed of more than 1,700 works of sport art across a variety of media, including paintings, sculptures, assemblages, prints and photographs.
