South Baldwin Chamber holds 75th Annual Gala

FOLEY – The South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 75th Annual Gala on Friday, Jan. 25 at the Foley Civic Center, among with many members and business owners from the surrounding community.

“In the twenty-one years that I have been here with the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, I have been blessed to be in a community with such fabulous leadership,” said Chamber President/CEO Donna Watts. “I get to work everyday with people who give to their community, who care, and who champion everything good in America.”

The gala features a silent auction, a catered dinner, and an awards ceremony that includes honoring the Diplomat of the Year, the Volunteer of the Year, and the Small Business of the Year.

The Diplomat of the Year award focuses on the Chamber Diplomats, a group of volunteers who work chamber events and greet businesses at ribbon cuttings. While each month a Diplomat is honored, at the end of the year one Diplomat is recognized as going above and beyond.

The Volunteer of the Year award recognizes a Chamber volunteer who not only puts in an immeasurable effort to help with Chamber functions, but who spends time volunteering within the community as well.

Finally, the Small Business of the Year Award goes to a business that stands out for their “sustainability, their contribution to the small business community, and those who give back to their community without hesitation,” as said by 2018 Board Chair Sue Alford.
