Students design SRO car at Silverhill School

SILVERHILL, Alabama — Silverhill School Resource Officer John Branscomb is riding in style, thanks to his new police cruiser, complete with a stylish graphics package designed by the students themselves.

“I was asked to come up with something to make the car stand out,” said Branscomb, “and I just new that our students could come up with something much better than I could.”

The department acquired the Dodge Charger police cruiser from the Bay Minette Police Department. Students were given a drawing of the cruiser and asked to create a design.

Nearly all of the school’s 400 students submitted an entry for the car’s design. From those entries, six were selected for the design, which was completed by Steve Williams of Performance Graphics.

Fifth grader Joseph Naquin came up with the main flag design for the vehicle. Others whose designs were incorporated into the cruiser were Stephanie Riley, Rachael Holley and Josselin Forsman, third grade; Addison Kucera, fourth grade; and Noah Geri, sixth grade.
