Posted

Everyone is invited to The University of South Alabama Department of Music’s Steinway Summer Concert, which is a free piano concert that will be held on Sunday, July 23rd, from 3pm-5pm at the Summerdale Municipal Complex (502 W Lee Ave.)

Steinway artist Dr. Robert Holm, Professor of Music and head of the piano division at University of South Alabama, and Victor Anduzulis will perform during the all-request evening. Anyone can RSVP with one to two pieces that they would like performed at the event to: Norma Giles at norma@normagilescpa.com, or call 251-978-3245. Make sure to submit your requests as quickly as possible to give the performers time to learn the music. You may request all types of music.

The All-Steinway Initiative is a program to assist the University of South Alabama in their quest to become an “All-Steinway School.” By doing this, the program will “enhance the ability to attract the very finest students, elevate the overall performance standard throughout the program, demonstrate a commitment to our students, faculty, and visiting guests, and a pledge to our audiences and community that the experiences offered by the University of South Alabama are consistent with those at the finest institutions nationwide and will never be compromised.”

USA seeks to purchase Steinway pianos for their practice rooms and faculty studios, which have instruments that are nearly 30 years old.

There is no admission for the concert, however USA will be taking donations to help them become an all Steinway school.

With the support of the community, the University of South Alabama seeks to realize their dream.
