Susan Margaret Bussey Hardesty passed away Feb. 8, 2019 at the age of 68 in Fairhope with her husband and daughter at her side, after a brief illness.
Susan had been a dental hygienist for over 30 years in Huntsville and was known for being caring and friendly. She relocated to Fairhope after retiring and enjoyed time on the bay with her family.
Susan made many trips back to Huntsville and Nashville to remain in touch with family and friends there. She was described by her daughter as "the strongest woman I know and always stood tough in the face of adversity."
Susan is survived by her devoted husband, Richard; her daughter, Kate Baxter; son-in-law, Justin Baxter; grandson, Neilan Baxter; sisters, Ann Thompson of Huntsville and Tricia Wilson of Nashville; stepmother, Madelyn Bussey of Huntsville; as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom adored her.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later time.
Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Weeks Bay Foundation of Baldwin County.
