On Sunday, Nov. 15 at approximately 12:30 a.m., Clinton Lee Luker, 18, was taken into custody in Pensacola, Florida by the Foley Police Department, with assistance from the Escambia County, Florida Sheriff’s Office. Luker has been charged with Attempted Murder and Felony Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling concerning a shooting that happened in the 300 block of 8th Avenue in Foley on Friday, Nov. 13.
During the shooting, a 17-year-old black male subject was found at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was in critical condition and transported by Medstar Air Care to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. He was struck three times and is currently recovering in the hospital.
While investigating the incident, detectives were able to develop Luker as a suspect. It was discovered that there was a connection between Luker and the victim. Motive for the shooting is believed to be a dispute over a debt. It was not a random act.
The charge of Felony Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling stems from a bullet that struck a nearby occupied apartment. Luker is currently being held in the Escambia County, Florida Detention Center where he awaits extradition back to Alabama. The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department and Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office assisted in the case.
