LOXLEY, Alabama — A Tennessee couple was arrested and charged with torture/willful abuse of a child after customers at a Loxley truck stop observed two children who were naked and covered in feces.

Investigator Zach Kuiken with the Loxley Police Department said officers responded to a call at approximately 8:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 28 at Love’s Truck Stop in Loxley and discovered two children, a 3-year-old boy and a 1-year-old girl who were “nude, filthy and covered in feces.”

The parents, identified as 20-year-old Alex-Vasile Busuioc and 19-year-old Larisa Suca of Nashville, were found nearby sleeping in a van, Kuiken said.

Both are Romanian nationals, Kuiken said, and were interviewed by DHR through a translator before being arrested and charged with torture/willful abuse of a child.

Both were booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Facility Wednesday afternoon and are being held on a $15,000 bond.

The two children were transported to USA Children’s and Women’s Medical Center in Mobile where they were treated for malnutrition and sores caused by the feces, Kuiken said.
