Sam Strite, long-time GlenLakes member and owner, has researched the GlenLakes Shoe Tree and others in different states and countries. Our club held a contest with Global Marketing in 2016, in an attempt to find the best "Legend of the Shoe Tree" story.

Seventh grader, Elly Musial, was voted as having the best story on the Shoe Tree at GlenLakes. Sam and Elly will dedicate the GlenLakes Shoe Tree, Vista Course Hole No. 3 with a commemorative plaque and short ceremony on Saturday, May 5th. Members, owners, and the entire community are invited to join Sam and Elly at Vista Hole No. 3 at 9:30 sharp for a short dedication.

Elly asked that all in attendance bring a pair of shoes to throw in the tree on Saturday, May 5th at 9:30 a.m., immediately after the dedication. We are hoping for a big crowd, and plan to fill the tree before the NJCAA National Junior College Championship. Elly's sister, Emmy Musial, a student-golfer at Clemson University will hit a commemorative tee shot on Hole No. 3 from the NJCAA Championship Men's tee. PGA General Manager David Musial, along with Mr. Strite, will donate $1,000 to the Foley High School Golf program and the St. Luke's High School Golf program, if Emmy makes a Hole in One on the first shot.

Join us on Saturday, May 5, at 9:30 a.m. sharp. Meet at the Shoe Tree and bring your shoes. (The dedication should last about 5-10 minutes). For more information about GlenLakes visit: GlenLakesGolf.com
