The Violinist performed to a sold out crowd

The City of Orange Beach’s Creative Director, Jessica Langston’s “The Violinist” was performed to a sold out crowd Oct. 30.

The murder mystery dinner included an evening of music, entertainment, food and drinks with a 1920s theme. The 104 in attendance at the Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach came dressed to impress in their finest 1920s attire.

“I am blessed beyond words by the outpouring from the Orange Beach community. Our audience donned their festive, flapper attire and immersed themselves in the story more than any I've ever seen. They laughed, clapped, hooted and hollered. They posed for pictures, raved over the delicious food, and filled the room a buzz of excitement. My heart is full and my smile is permanent. Thank you to everyone who came out to show support for the performing arts,” Langston said.

The fun evening was a fundraiser for the Performing Arts spring musical, “Grease.” The money raised will help offset some of the expenses of the production.

Auditions for “Grease” will be Nov. 18, 19, 21 at 6 p.m. at the Orange Beach Tennis Center for ages 13 and older. Auditions for all ages will take place Nov. 22, at 6 p.m. at the Recreation Center in room MPR1.

“If anyone wants to wear their roller skates and show us their talent, we are happy to accept some car hops. We welcome any members of the community that want to help in any way. They can fill out some information and tell us what they are interested in. If there are any children younger than 13 years old, they are welcome to try out. There is something for everyone,” Langston said.
