MOBILE, Ala. — The Baldwin County High School Girls Cross Country team is headed to the Class 6A state contest. The Lady Tigers team finished in third place at sectionals in Mobile and will advance to the state contest for the first time in a decade.
The team was led by Alondra Rangel who finished in third place overall for and Amelia Dute, who finished in sixth place.
The Lady Tigers who will be competing at state includes Diane Plascencia, Anna Grace McKinnis, Abigail Steele, Payton Franklin, Courtney Lewis, Dute, Maddie Beaver, and Rangel.
For the boys, Matthew Covington finished in ninth place in the Class 6A Boys Section 1 race. While the boys team did not advance, Covington and Ben White qualified individually for state.
The Tigers are led by Coach Matthew Beckett. The state race will take place Nov. 11 at Moulton.
