Tigers close out successful 2019 swim season

BAY MINETTE, Ala. - Baldwin County High School Swim Team closed out a very successful season with an awards banquet. In addition to recognizing swimmers with team awards, those selected to All-County were also recognized. They include Alec Morris, Kenny Weatherford, Hamp Weatherford, Brady Seals, William Hastings, Kristen Phillips, and Samantha Rogers.

The team is led by Zeb Hilburn who was also named the Baldwin County Swim Coach of the Year. Congratulations to these student-athletes and a big congratulations to Coach Hilburn as well.

Team awards presented at the banquet included:

Female Swimmer of the Year: Emma Stuart

Male Swimmer of the Year: Kenny Weatherford

Female Freshman of the Year: Anna Parker

Male Freshman of Year: John David Weatherford

Most Dedicated Female: Kristin Phillips

Most Dedicated Male: Alec Morris

Most Improved Male: William Hastings & Brady Seals (First Time Sectional QualifierS)

Most Improved Female: Samantha Rogers

Female Newcomer of the Year: Madelyn McKinley

Male Newcomer of the Year: Justus Perioux

Fastest Freestyle: Hamp Weatherford

Best Butterfly: Olivia Lamb

The BCHS Swim Team finished in fifth place at the County Meet and had five qualify for Sectionals and had the Mens' Relay Team compete in the 400 Freestyle Relay. Coach Hilburn said he is very proud of the dedication and performance of his swimmers and is looking forward to an even better swim season next year.
