Tommy Wayne Cheatham, age 75, a resident of Daphne, Alabama, passed away January 2, 2021. Tommy was a retired Captain, Troop Commander, of the Alabama State Troopers. He was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Tommy was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, John Cheatham and Edna Bruffy. Tommy is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Karen Cheatham, Daphne; daughter, Candace Cheatham, Summerdale; three sisters, Patricia (Lee R., Jr.) Truelove, Davenport, FL, Jonya (David) Hawkins, Huntsville, Linda Bruffy, Richmond, VA; three grandchildren, Brianna, Dylan and Kaleb; stepmother, Barbara Cheatham, Huntsville; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Daphne, AL on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 11:00AM. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00AM. Inurnment will follow at 12:30PM on January 7, 2021 at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spanish Fort, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to your church or favorite charity.
