BON SECOUR, Alabama — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reported one fatality in Baldwin County over the Labor Day weekend.

Just after 2 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, ALEA Troopers responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash on County Road 10 near the intersection of County Road 19 in Bon Secour.

Samuel E. Clayton, 22, of Foley, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene when the 2011 Chrysler 300 he was a passenger in left the roadway, struck a group of trees and overturned several times. According to an ALEA release issued Saturday, he was not wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the vehicle, Zachary Landon Gregory, 32, of Foley, and another passenger, Amanda Dixon Gregory, 35, of Foley, were both transported by ambulance to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release.

ALEA Troopers are investigating the incident.
