Woman awaiting trial in boyfriend’s death arrested in Orange Beach

ORANGE BEACH, AL – A woman out on bond awaiting a murder trial in Prattville was arrested for driving under the influence and being a minor in possession of alcohol in Orange Beach on Oct. 2.

According to Orange Beach Police records Vegas Contorno, 20, was arrested at a strip mall on Canal Road that contains Undertow Bar and Grill, Vapors of Orange Beach, Tacky Jacks’ business office and Bryant Heating and Cooling.

Police said when Contorno tried to leave the parking lot at the strip mall she ran into an Orange Beach Police cruiser with the car she was driving.

On April 6 Contorno pleaded not guilty to the stabbing death of Remington Foradori, 19, according to Autauga County court records. Police indicated the stabbing was the result of a domestic dispute between the pair. Police say Contorno and Foradori were in a relationship and had a son together that was 3 months old at the time of Foradori’s death.

Contorno’s attorney, Susan James, said she acted in self-defense.

Contorno was released Aug. 10, 2015 on a $250,000 bond and, according to court records, was going to live with her grandparents in Orange Beach while awaiting trial on the murder charge.

Records pertaining to her bond agreement have been sealed, according to the Autauga County District Attorney’s office, so it is not known if the arrest for minor in possession of alcohol is a violation of that agreement.

Contorno's next court appearance is a plea date set for Nov. 8.
