DAPHNE/FOLEY, Ala. – Both branches of the YMCA of South Alabama in Baldwin County (Bounds Family YMCA and John McClure Snook Family YMCA) invite the community to tee up for a good cause at its 8th Annual Golf Tournament on Thursday, March 1 at the Rock Creek Golf Course in Fairhope, Alabama.

The tournament consists of a four-person scramble format, with check-in beginning at 10 a.m. and a shotgun start at 12 p.m. Registration fees are $125 per golfer/$500 per team, which includes a lunch, 2 drink tickets, fabulous Hole in One prizes, an awards reception, and more.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the ‘Y’ Campaign for Youth, Families, and Seniors. The goal is to ensure that all children, families and seniors—regardless of income—have a chance to benefit from the YMCA’s life-changing programs and services, such as swim lessons, summer camp, afterschool care, sports and membership.

“The success of this tournament will allow us to offer scholarships to more children/teens, single moms/dads, and families in our community,” says Sue Sanders, CEO of the YMCA of South Alabama. “The dollars we raise will allow us to offer anyone who needs a place, as long as funds are available, an opportunity to be healthier, more confident, connected and secure.”

Interested participants can register online at www.ysal.org/golfclassic or come by the Bounds or Snook YMCA branches. We are also looking for businesses in our community to partner with us in sponsorship of this event.

YMCA of South Alabama has five branches -- three in Mobile County and two in Baldwin County.
