BAY MINETTE, Alabama — A Bay Minette man has been arrested on obscenity, along with other charges, after officials say he would expose himself and show pornographic movies to passersby.

According to a release issued Thursday by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department, Derrick Lashawn Sayles, 41, of Bay Minette, was booked into the Baldwin County Correction Center on Wednesday, charged with dissemination of obscene material, indecent exposure and possession of marijuana, second degree.

Sayles was arrested at his home on Sellers Lane after Deputies received a complaint from a woman who said, as she would jog by his residence, Sayles would turn a large screen TV toward a front window of his home and play pornographic movies. She said Sayles would also stand in that same window nude and apparently masturbate as she ran by.

Deputies say they observed this behavior as they were stationed in an adjoining yard. This residence is less than a half-mile from Baldwin County High School, according to the release.

Sayles is currently being held at the Baldwin County Corrections Center on a $43,000 bond.
