James L. "Jim" Foltz

James L. (Jim) Foltz, 80 died unexpectedly on February 27, 2020 in Tyler Texas while traveling home. He was born July 17, 1939 in Rutland, VT, the son of Daniel Foltz and Virginia Carrie Campbell Foltz. Jim graduated from Rutland High School, class of 1957. He received his BSBA from the University of Florida. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard retiring after 2 years of service. Jim married his soul-mate Bettye J Peden in 1963 and they made their home in Creola, AL. They celebrated 47 years of marriage before his beloved Bettye passed away in 2010. After his military service Jim worked as Operations manager for Scott Paper Company and Plant Manager for Cello Foil. In 1999 Jim decided to embark on another career as an independent adjuster. Jim worked most major storms across the US from 1999 until his death in 2020. He was a loved member of the Schafer, Wood & Associates family since 2004. Jim was active in Community Affairs serving as Board Member / Officer in United Way, Boys and Girls Club of America, Arts Council and Rotary. He loved Blue Grass Music and the Grand Ole Opra. His children loved their life with Jim. He was a true Gentle Man that was loved by all who knew him. Jim is predeceased by his parents and his wife. Jim is survived by his three Children Theresa Diane Sawyer, Linda Gail Greene and J. Keith Greene. Brother: Richard Foltz and wife Margo. Grandchildren: Hunter Greene, Tim and Donna Bush and James Bush. Great-grandchildren Jay Bush, Marli Bush, Kristin Bush, Derek Bush, Dustin Bush. Nieces and nephews: Kyle, Savanna Peden, Warner, Jackie and Jillian Foltz, Heinrich, Laleh Foltz.

Due to the current Corona Virus, A celebration of Jim’s life will be held in the Gulf Shores area. The date will be announced when it is determined.
