ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — Timothy Mullek, a member of Troop 45 in Robertsdale, has earned the Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout Award. He was recognized in a Court of Honor ceremony Sunday, June 2 at Presentation Hall at St. Patrick Catholic School.

To earn Scouting's highest award, Mullek had to earn 21 merit badges, serve as a leader in his troop and complete a major community, school or church related service project.

Mullek’s service project was to remove and replace the back patios at St. Patrick Catholic School. He had to plan the project, raise the necessary funds and orchestrate the removal of the old patio and coordinate the pouring of the new concrete slab. Then, his fellow Scouts joined him in planting sod around the edges of the patios to provide a smooth transition to the rest of the school's yard.

Mullek joined Cub Scout Pack 45 in 2011 as a Bear and has moved up the ranks of Scouting. He received his Arrow of Light in 2014 and crossed over into Boy Scout Troop 45. He is a member of the Order of the Arrow Woa Cholena Lodge 322 and has received the honor of the brotherhood and is the vice chief of Finance. He has attended the National Order of the Arrow Conference, National Jamboree at Summit Bechtel Reserve and Florida Sea Base. This summer, he will attend the World Jamboree at Summit Bechtel Reserve.

Mullek, a rising junior at St. Michael Catholic High School in Fairhope, plays varsity football and soccer. He attends St. Patrick Catholic Church where he is an altar server and a member of the St. Patrick Youth Group.

He is the son of Tim and Roberta Mullek of Robertsdale and the grandson of Joe and Betty Mullek of Robertsdale, Ben Gause of Isle of Palms, South Carolina, and Roger Gause of Saluda, North Carolina.
