FAIRHOPE – Fairhope police arrested two men Monday after a shot was fired during an argument in the drive-through lane at the McDonald’s restaurant on Greeno Road.

No one was hit by the single bullet fired, but one man was injured during the fight, according to a Fairhope police statement.

Police were called to the restaurant at 6:45 p.m. Officers found two men, Jayson Allen Coulouge, 18 of Chalmette, La., and Jackson Hussey, 23 of Daphne, had been arguing with a 16-year-old. The three began fighting in the drive-through lane, the statement said.

During the argument, Coulouge got out of his vehicle, approached the juvenile’s vehicle, reached inside the window and opened the door. The teen told officers that is when Coulouge pulled a handgun from his waistband and stuck it to his ribs. When the juvenile grabbed the pistol, the weapon fired one shot.

“Thank goodness no one was struck or injured by the bullet,” stated Stephanie Hollinghead, Fairhope chief of police.

While Coulouge and the juvenile were fighting, Hussey, got out of the vehicle and approached the teen with a hammer. When officers arrived, they detained all parties for further questioning. Coulouge was injured during the fight and was transported to Thomas Hospital for treatment.

After an investigation, police charged Coulouge with reckless endangerment, menacing, harassment, and pistol without a permit. Warrants have been issued for his arrest and will be served once he is released from the hospital., police said
