Winton Edison Wise, age 91, born in McCullough, Alabama and a resident of Bay Minette, Alabama, died peacefully Monday, Nov. 20, 2017 at home.

He was a retired bank president at McMillan and Co. Bankers in Livingston, Alabama. Prior to retiring, he also worked at First National Bank and was a football coach in Foley and Orville, Alabama.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, having served during WWII.

He is survived by his wife, Naomi Watson Wise of Bay Minette, Alabama; his children, Pamela Wise (Mickey) Carney of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and Jody Lynn Wise (Mike) Campbell of Bay Minette, Alabama; daughter-in-law, Aimeé Wise of Gordo, Alabama; family friend, Peggy Kelso Wise of Bay Minette, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Wise (Chad) Loper, Kelly (Honey) Wise, Tara Wise (Brian) Lancaster, Ryan (K.C.) Wise, Bradley Wise Campbell, Gary Patrick Campbell and Watson McNeill Campbell; three step-grandchildren, Michael (Melissa) Carney, Jon Mark Carney and David (Emily) Carney; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Watson Wise and Gary Otis Wise; and a brother, Merrill Wise.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 24, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, with Dr. Chip Starnes officiating.

Burial will follow at Canoe Freewill Cemetery in Canoe, Alabama.

The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 24, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Bradley Campbell, Gary Campbell, Watson Campbell, Kelly Wise, Ryan Wise and David Carney.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1628, Bay Minette, AL 36507; Alabama Baptist Children's Home, P.O. Box 361767, Birmingham, AL 35236, or to the University of West Alabama Winton and Naomi Wise Scholarship Fund, UWA, Livingston, AL 35470.
