Baldwin EMC and The Wharf join forces for the 2nd Annual Supplies for Success Drive

SUMMERDALE, Alabama — In partnership with The Wharf, Baldwin EMC will host its Supplies for Success Drive for the second year in a row, starting June 14 and running through July 16, to collect school supplies for children in need in Baldwin County. All items will be distributed to the community through Catholic Social Services’ Project R.E.A.C.H. (Resources for the Educational Advancement of Children) program.

The community is invited to drop off supplies at the Welcome Center at The Wharf, located in Suite K6, as well as at any of the cooperative’s offices in Summerdale, Orange Beach or Bay Minette. Items must be new and in their original packaging to be accepted. The Wharf is offering one free Ferris wheel pass to the first 50 donors.

“While our primary goal is to provide safe and reliable electricity, Baldwin EMC is about so much more, including being a community-involved cooperative,” said Mark Ingram, vice president of corporate services and public relations. “We launched this drive last summer to assist Catholic Social Services and were overwhelmed by the positive response. As always, when we put out the call for help, the generosity of our community truly shines. It’s wonderful to see neighbors helping neighbors, and in this case, children, who may need a little help to prepare for a successful school year in the fall. We’re thrilled to once again partner with The Wharf and appreciate all of their efforts in this endeavor.”

“The Wharf is proud to partner with Baldwin EMC in their work to ensure the success of our future leaders along the Gulf Coast,” said Jim Bibby, general manager, The Wharf.  “We’re built on fun and family and are excited to be a small part of this great cause.”

Catholic Social Services established Project R.E.A.C.H. to help provide school supplies and financial assistance for children from underprivileged families in our local area.

Families who would like to receive assistance from the program can contact Catholic Social Services at 251-947-2293 or visit them at 23010 Alabama 59 in Robertsdale.
