Catch up with the Wisconsin Sno-bird Club during Jan. 8 meeting

The Wisconsin Sno-bird Club will meet Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the Orange Beach Event Center near The Wharf. Coffee and doughnuts begin at 8:30 a.m. with the meeting starting promptly at 9 a.m. Anyone from Wisconsin in the area for the winter is welcome to attend.

At the meetings you will meet other Wisconsin sno-birds, learn about volunteer opportunities at the new Zoo, Baldwin County Heritage Museum in Elberta, local libraries and senior centers. There are also featured speakers from the local communities.

The Wisconsin Sno-bird club collects Boxtops for Education from participating products, motel-size toiletries, empty printer ink cartridges and pop-top rings. There is also a puzzle and book exchange. Information is also available about upcoming day trips.

Other upcoming Wisconsin Sno-bird events:

•Card players meet at the Gulf Shores American Legion Post 44 on Hwy 59 every Friday at 8:30 a.m. starting Jan. 3.

•Golfers receive special rates at the GlenLakes Golf Club, 9530 Clubhouse Dr., Foley.

•Singles group meets monthly for lunch at 11:30 a.m. starting Monday, Jan. 13. The location will be announced Jan. 8.
