Orange Beach City Councilman Jeff Boyd saved a few of Orange Beach’s smallest residents May 26 with the help of Orange Beach Wildlife Center and Management Program.
Boyd jumped into action when a barn swallow nest located under his dock was in danger. A combination of boat wake and high water was about to submerge the nest.
Interns Julie Lesznar and Kathlene Saliba from the Orange Beach Wildlife Center and Management Program arrived to relocate the nest. Boyd jumped in to assist. The nest was relocated to above the waterline. Momma bird and babies are safe.
