FAIRHOPE, Ala. - Fairhope High’s Hall of Fame welcomed eight new members during halftime on W. C. Majors Field at Fairhope Municipal Stadium, Oct. 11.

Jarrod Bohannan (Class of 1986), Lacey Stejskal Powell (2002), Leigh Stejskal Rogers (1999), Kyle Sherrin (2009), David Stapleton, Jr. (1980) and Dailey Barnette Wilkinson (1996) were the athletes inducted. Also inducted were HOF Associates Desmond Joiner and Don Pippin.
Joiner is a former president of the FHS Booster Club and is the creator/media manager of Pirate Nation Live.
Pippin is a 20-year-plus veteran of the Fairhope sideline crew working the chains/down marker system and has served the community as a youth coach for many years.
Bohannan played four years of football, two seasons of basketball and was a member of the 1984 state-champion baseball Pirates.

Powell was a four-sport letterman in basketball, soccer, track and volleyball earning 19 varsity letters and still holds two school track records in long and triple jump. She played volleyball for the University of South Alabama. She is now the head volleyball coach at Fairhope and serves as assistant athletic director.
Rogers was also a four-sport athlete at Fairhope earning 17 letters in basketball, cross-country, track and volleyball. She also excelled in and focused on volleyball and is now the Pirates’ assistant coach.
Sherrin served as co-captain of the Pirates’ 2009 Class 6A state champion soccer team and was named the title-match’s Most Valuable Player in 6A. He was named to the AHSAA All-State soccer team that season. He later played at Birmingham-Southern College.
Stapleton excelled in football at Fairhope, was a walk on at Auburn University and later became an assistant coach for the Pirates under legendary head coaches W.C. Majors and Joe Dean. He also coached at St. Paul’s and was part of their multiple state-championship-winning staffs’ success. He returned to Fairhope’s sidelines in 2005 and coached spring golf before retiring in 2014. He is now on the coaching staff at Bayside Academy.
Wilkinson excelled in basketball under the late Doug Etheridge (Fairhope Hall of Famer) and in volleyball under FHS coach Brenda Allen. She was an all-state volleyball selection twice and a three-time MVP in volleyball at Fairhope. She also was named the Pirates basketball captain for two seasons under Etheridge. She played volleyball at Nicholls State and at the University of South Alabama. She is now active as a club-volleyball coach.

The Pirates also honored current head baseball coach Stu Fuller at midfield Friday night for his service to Fairhope High School athletics. Fuller reached a major career milestone with his 500th coaching win for Fairhope High baseball on the diamond earlier this year.
