The call came in at 3:11 a.m. and crews arrived on scene minutes later to find the single-story residence with heavy smoke and fire showing.

Fire officials have confirmed there were six people home at the time of the fire, five adults and one child. One adult female was transported to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center for treatment of smoke inhalation, and the remaining individuals escaped the fire without injury.

The State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating to determine the cause of the fire. We will continue to update as information becomes available.
