Live Music and Storytelling Return to Blakeley on Oct. 9

Posted

Historic Blakeley State Park welcomes back fall with the return of live bluegrass and entertaining storytelling on Friday, Oct. 9, from 6-8 p.m. Popular local bluegrass band Blue Mullet will play original tunes and cover standards from the early days of bluegrass and old-time music by some of the greats like Bill Monroe and the Carter Family. To keep things interesting, they also pull from Western Swing, Folk, Blues and other musical influences and traditions.

Mobile storyteller Frank Tigner will share some of his favorite Southern tales as well. A retired teacher who now works with the Mobile Public Library System, Tigner is especially popular with children for his story-time yarns. “The Good Guys” Mobile Food Unit will be on site with delicious burgers, sandwiches,
and wraps.

This is an outdoor event with plenty of room for social distancing; just bring a chair! Admission is just $6 for adults and $4 for kids 6-12. Kids under 6 are free. For more information or to book tickets in advance, visit www.blakeleypark.com.
