ORANGE BEACH, AL - Marinalife recently announced the winners of the Seventh Annual Best Marina Contest. Orange Beach Marina was voted 2016’s Best Large Marina and Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, Md., was voted 2016’s Best Small Marina.

Orange Beach Marina offers a fully protected harbor and family-friendly environment for all types of boaters. With 161 in water slips, the marina is accessible from the Gulf, Tennessee-Tombigbee, Intracoastal Waterway, Mobile or Pensacola Bay.

The docks, facilities, and friendly marina staff is what made Orange Beach Marina stand out to Marinalife as one of the premier marinas on the Gulf Coast.

“Orange Beach Marina is honored to be voted Marinalife’s 2016 Best Large Marina,” C. Bennett Long, president, said. “As a family-owned and operated business, our staff takes pride in working every day to exceed our customers’ expectations and provide them with a second-to-none world-class marina experience.

“Our award-winning staff treats our customers like they are members of our family because quite simply, they are. This award honors the entire team at Orange Beach Marina, our staff, customers and boat owners.”

Voted 2016’s Best Small Marina, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, Md., is a maritime museum dedicated to preserving and exploring the history, environment and people of the Chesapeake Bay. With 40 in-water slips, CBMM’s offers electric, pump-out, climate-controlled showers and other amenities to members.

Due to the overwhelming amount of votes, Marinalife recognized the second and third place winners in each category. Green Turtle Bay Marina & Resort in Grand Rivers, Ky., was voted second place for the Best Large Marina category, and Wentworth by the Sea Marina in New Castle, N.H., came in third place. Harbour Town Yacht Basin in Hilton Head, S.C. was voted second place in the Best Small Marina category and in third place was South Jersey Marina in Cape May, N.J.

Marinalife thanked marinas and boaters nationwide for participating in this year’s contest. Announcements for Marinalife’s Eighth Annual Best Marina Contest will be coming next summer.
