Suspect sought in Magnolia Springs robbery

MAGNOLIA SPRINGS, Alabama — The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office is looking for information on the whereabouts of a suspect in a robbery that occurred at a Magnolia Springs RV and mobile home park on the day after Christmas.

According to information provided by BCSO investigations command, charges have been brought against two men in the assault of another man which they say occurred Dec. 26 as he dropped an acquaintance off at Valley RV and Mobile Home Park, located off of Magnolia Springs Highway in Magnolia Springs.

According to the release, the man was forced to empty his pockets, which included keys, personal effects and several hundred dollars.

He was then taken to a trailer, where he was tied to a chair, assaulted and threatened with a firearm. He was held for at least a day before being dropped off at a different location. He is recovering from a surgery stemming from injuries sustained during the incident.

One man, 29-year-old Taylor Nelson, was arrested Jan. 10, charged with kidnapping, first degree; robbery, first degree; and assault, first degree; possession of a controlled substance and attempt to elude. He is being held without bond at the Baldwin County Corrections Facility.

A second suspect, 23-year-old Kirkland Cohen, is being sought on kidnapping, robbery and assault charges, but remains at large. He is believed to be in the Foley area.

Cohen is being asked to surrender and anyone with information regarding his location is asked to contact the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office at 251-937-0202.
