ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - The No. 7 seeded Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the No. 10 seeded Auburn Tigers in the first game of the 2019 SEC Soccer Tournament in Orange Beach with a 2-1 score in overtime Sunday.
Tide forward Casey Wertz scored the first goal of the tournament eight minutes and 48 seconds into the game with an assist from midfielder Kaley Verpaele. Auburn got on the board thanks to an unassisted goal from Tigers forward Jessie Gerow 30:23 minutes in.
Crimson Tide midfielder Macy Clem won the game for Alabama in overtime with an assist from midfielder Carlee Giammona. The Crimson Tide moved on to face the No. 2 seeded Vanderbilt Commodores in the quarterfinals.
The No. 8 seeded Ole Miss Rebels defeated the No. 9 seeded Mississippi State Bulldogs in the second and last game of the first round of the tournament with a 2-1 score. The Rebels got on the board first 12 minutes, 57 seconds into the game due to an error on the Bulldogs.
Midfielder Niah Johnson got the Bulldogs on the board in the 89th minute (less than two minutes left) from a penalty kick. The Rebels quickly responded with a goal from forward Gabby Little with an assist from forward Saydie Holland.

• Quarter Finals: Nov. 5 at 12, 2:30, 5 and 7:30 p.m.
• Semifinals: Nov. 7 at 3:30 and 6 p.m.
• Finals: Nov. 10 at 1 p.m.
