FOLEY, Alabama — While they say he is still a person of interest in an apparent homicide that occurred last month in Foley, officials with the Baldwin County Major Crimes Unit and Foley Police Department are now issuing a warrant and a reward for the man they say is connected to the victim’s stolen vehicle.
According to a release issued Thursday by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department, the Baldwin County Major Crimes Unit has issued a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Nicholas Ryan Young and a warrant has been obtained for first degree theft of property involving the theft of the victim’s vehicle.
According to a release issued Monday by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department, Young is being sought as a person connected to or who may have information regarding the apparent homicide of 53-year-old Ronald Jeffrey Higginbotham, who was found dead Tuesday, Oct. 30 in the Bay Villa Apartments on South Bay Street in Foley.
Higginbotham was found dead in his apartment by a maintenance employee, according to a BCSO release issued last week.
According to Monday’s release, Young is also missing and may be in danger himself. He was last seen in the Pensacola, Florida, area.
Law enforcement is asking for assistance from the public to locate Young. If you have information about this homicide or the whereabouts of Young, you are asked to contact either the Foley Police Department at 251-943-4431 or the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office at 251-937-0202.
