BAY MINETTE, Alabama — No arrests were made following a report regarding suspicious persons at the Bay Minette Walmart, prompting an investigation by the Bay Minette Police Department.

According to a BMPD release issued Thursday, police were notified Thursday of the Facebook post indicating that a large Caucasian male had followed a woman and her daughter to their vehicle. The Facebook post stated that the Caucasian male did not say anything, but just stood at the passenger door of their vehicle where her daughter was sitting.

BMPD contacted the woman and discovered that the incident occurred on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at approximately 5:15 p.m., according to the release.

Video surveillance from the Walmart store was obtained. The entire incident was captured on store surveillance video.

“We learned from the video that an elderly man and an elderly lady had approached several people in the parking lot asking for help to jump their vehicle,” according to the release. “After discovering this information from viewing the parking lot video surveillance we determined that no foul play was intended.”
