BCSO deputies respond to another shooting in Little River

LITTLE RIVER, Alabama — The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department responded to another shooting Saturday in the Little River community of North Baldwin County.

At approximately 10 a.m. on Saturday, a BCSO post on social media stated that deputies were on the scene of a shooting on Sims Road near Little River.

“Two people were shot during an argument,” stated the post. “One (victim) is at the hospital. One is still on scene. There is no public safety threat at this time.”

In a follow-up posted at 12:47 p.m., the Sheriff’s Department posted that one victim was in stable condition at USA Medical Center in Mobile. The other victim was treated on the scene.

“The case is related to an ongoing domestic violence situation,” according to the post.

The two victims were not identified and there was no report as to whether or not anyone was arrested in the incident.

In an apparently unrelated incident, a Baldwin County man was arrested on Thanksgiving Day after deputies responded to a shooting on Ralph Gantt Road.

Roger Boone, 46, of Ralph Gantt Road, was booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Facility at around 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28, charged with attempted murder, first degree kidnapping, discharge of a firearm into an occupied dwelling or vehicle, third degree domestic violence and reckless endangerment.

According to jail records, he was released Dec. 9 on a $100,000 bond.

At around 2 p.m. Nov. 28, the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department released a statement on social media that deputies were on the scene near the area of Ralph Gantt Road in reference to a person shot.

The armed suspect was barricaded inside his residence, according to the statement, but later surrendered. The victim, who was not been identified, was transported by Life Flight USA Medical Center in Mobile.

At around 6 p.m. on Nov. 28, BCSO released a follow-up statement on social media stating that Boone had been arrested and the victim had been treated and released.
