ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — The Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce is currently accepting nominations for the 2019 Fell, Gilbert, Mack, Pearson – Founders Awards.

Every year, the Chamber honored its Man and Woman of the Year at the annual meeting in January. Last year, the award was renamed to honor the Chamber’s founding members, Raymond Fell, Jimmy Gilbert, Huey Mack Sr. and Percy Pearson.

“It is a tradition of the Chamber to recognize an individual for outstanding achievements each year,” said Chamber President/CEO Gail Quezada. “This new award honors our Chamber Founders that understood the need in the business community to create an organization that would promote growth, economic stability and supports thriving commerce. Raymond Fell, Jimmy Gilbert, Huey Mack Sr., and Percy Pearson all possessed that vision and dedicated themselves to make it a reality.”

The individual that is nominated for this award should be someone who throughout his/her career and personal work has demonstrated leadership characteristics, has successfully shown his/her abilities as an individual, a team member, and a leader, Quezada said.

The individual must have shown a willingness to serve and assist other individuals in their personal and professional development and has contributed to the success of others as well as his/her own. The nominee must be a Central Baldwin resident, own a business in Central Baldwin, or work in Central Baldwin.

Awards will be announced at the Annual Meeting and Banquet on Jan. 16 at the Baldwin County Coliseum in Robertsdale.

All nominations must be in by noon on Nov. 21 to be considered.
