For the third time in four weeks, Jay was announced as the first person saved from elimination on Tuesday night following an emotional performance of John Michael Montgomery’s “I Swear” on Monday night, which aired locally on WPMI NBC 15.

Coach Blake Shelton’s team will form half of the final 4 as Wisconsin country crooner Chris Kroeze joined Jay in the finals with a Monday night performance of Marshall Tucker’s “Can’t You See.”

Kroeze also did not face the “Instant Save” elimination on Tuesday, along with young country artist Chevel Shepherd of from coach Kelly Clarkson’s team with her performance of the LeAnn Rimes hit “Blue.”

Kennedy Holmes from coach Jennifer Hudson’s team rounds out the final 4, following a performance of Keala Settle’s, “This Is Me,” beating out coach Adam Levine’s Reagan Strange and Team Kelly’s Kymberli Joye in Tuesday night’s “Instant Save.”

MaKenzie Thomas from Team Jennifer and Sarah Grace from Team Kelly were also eliminated from the competition on Tuesday night.

Each of the final 8 also performed duets featuring mashup performances on Monday night, beginning with Grace and Kroeze, performing a combination of The Rolling Stones’ “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and Aretha Franklin’s “Chain of Fools.”

Other performances included a mashup of Janelle Monae’s “Tightrope,” and Pharell’s “Happy,” performed by Holmes and Strange; Jason Aldean’s “She’s Country,” mashed with Brandley Gilbert’s “Country Must Be Country Wide,” sung by Jay and Shepherd; and Cheryl Lynn’s “Got to Be Real,” paired with “Best of My Love,” by The Emotions,” sung by Joye and Thomas.
