Koniar gives annual State of the City Update

Foley Mayor John Koniar presented his annual State of the City Update as part of the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Series on Wednesday, Sept. 26. Koniar gave a brief summary of fiscal year 18, stating that all taxes except for rental tax were up from last year. Lodging tax had the largest increase, coming in at 15.21 percent higher than FY17. Koniar spoke of new major developments that came or were announced during the last year, including Marshals, Publix, and Buffalo Wild Wings. Road projects discussed included the extensions to 9th Avenue and Fern Avenue.
